Building Resilience Through Mutual Aid
A two-part community workshop with Morella Mora
Mutual aid is solidarity, not charity. It’s the practice of communities meeting each other’s needs directly when the systems meant to serve us fall short. From the mutualistas that sustained Mexican and Latino workers to the free breakfast programs of the civil rights era, mutual aid has always been how working people and marginalized communities have survived and organized for justice.
Come share in a space that is grounded in the belief that this is the true system holding our community together. This workshop is a space to honor that work, learn from the movements that came before us, and build the capacity to sustain it.
Part One · Monday, November 9: The history and impact of mutual aid movements
Part Two · Monday, November 16: Mutual aid in action, here in the Gorge
